VODAFONE SHOWCASES THE EXACT REPLICA OF THE VODAFONE MCLAREN MERCEDES RACING CAR IN CHANDIGARH

Chandigarh, October 4, 2012: Vodafone India Ltd., one of India’s leading telecommunications service providers, today showcased the exact replica of Vodafone McLaren Mercedes racing car at Paras Downtown Mall, Zirakpur, on the outskirts of Chandigarh. The car is similar to the one driven by Vodafone McLaren Mercedes racing stars Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button.

Speaking about the initiative, Asit Shekhar, Business Head, Punjab, Vodafone India, said, “Leveraging our global association, we are proud to bring the exact replica of the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes racing car to our customers in Chandigarh. This is in line with our customer connect program in Chandigarh, the ideal planned city, where we are always on the lookout for avenues to create and provide a fun and differentiated experience for our customers. We expect that this initiative will provide an opportunity for motor racing enthusiasts to get up close and personal with the car.”

As racing enthusiasts in Chandigarh are gearing up for the second season of the much awaited motor racing event to be held in the National Capital Region in October 2012, they are getting a chance to see and take photographs with the car. Vodafone India is engaging with the residents of Chandigarh and surrounding areas, by showcasing the car at Paras Downtown Mall, Zirakpur, between October 3 – 5 2012.

Vodafone India, in order to make significant in-roads into the small and medium business community and to give them a platform for easier path of growth, had announced, in July 2012, the launch of the second season of the Vodafone Drive into the Big League. This initiative gives one lucky SME, the opportunity to take center stage with their logo on the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes cars at the 2nd Indian Grand Prix. The city qualifiers have been conducted across ten locations in India and the Grand Finale with 21 finalists, out of 300,000 entries received, will take place in New Delhi this month, prior to the Grand Race Day.
