SMS Tones are short-length tones that can be set as message alert tones. So whenever you receive an SMS your phone will alert you with the tone you have selected. These tones are available to you as mono, poly and true tones.

By calling

Just dial 56789 and say "SMS Tones" to select your favourite tune. If your handset does not support GPRS, you will receive a monophonic tone.

If your handset supports GPRS and you have subscribed to Vodafone live! you can download the tone as polyphonic or true tone. However, if you have not subscribed to Vodafone live! you will receive a monophonic tone.

On Vodafone live!

Log on to Vodafone live! on your GPRS enabled Vodafone mobile phone and go to the SMS Tones section. You will receive these tones as polyphonic or real tones.


Using SMS tones

On successfully downloading SMS tones, you would need to set it on your Vodafone mobile phone. Here“s how:

Step 1: Go to 'Profiles' in your phone menu

Step 2: Select the profile to be used and go to the ‘Personalise’ option

Step 3: Go to the 'Message alert' option and select the tone you want

Step 4: Enable the profile to start using the SMS tone

  • Calls to 56789 @ Rs6 / min. Additionally, you need to pay between Rs5 and Rs20 for polyphonic and true tones.
  • You need to pay between Rs5 and Rs20 based on the SMS tone downloaded, plus usage charges

Prepaid Customers:
  • Services to your mobile number would be discontinued if there is no usage i.e., no Voice Calls (incoming or outgoing), SMS & Data for any continuous period of 60 days. No refund would be given for any unused talk time balance and validity of the card. Number will be unusable post disconnection.
  • Customer with lifetime validity needs to do mandatorily recharge with Rs.200 cumulative in 180 days to avoid disconnection.
Postpaid Customers:
  • Services to your mobile number would be discontinued if there is no usage i.e., no Voice Calls (incoming or outgoing), SMS & Data for 1st 2 bill cycles post activation date.
