Background Music

Personalise your conversations by playing music that matches the mood in the background. Just activate this service on your Vodafone mobile phone, select the song you want and hear the music play during the call. And that’s not all. You can also select different music for different people and play special sounds during the conversation at the press of a button.

Activate

Just dial 55111 from your Vodafone mobile phone and follow the activation process. Once done, you will receive an SMS confirming your activation.

Activation – sms ACT BGM to 111 (toll free) for Postpaid customers / sms ACT BGM to 144 (toll free) for Prepaid customers .

Deactivation – sms CAN BGM to 111 (toll free) for Postpaid customers / sms CAN BGM to 144 (toll free) for Prepaid customers.

Once the service is activated on your Vodafone mobile phone you can dial 55111 and either select different songs for different mobile numbers or you can select one single song for all mobile numbers.
When you call 55111, you can either make a call with Background Music or you can manage your Background Music account by adding, deleting or changing the songs.
An easy way to add music to a conversation is by adding the prefix 55111 before dialling the 10-digit destination number.
  • To make a call with Background Music to a mobile phone, dial <55111><9XXXXXXXXX>.
  • To make a call with Background Music to a landline phone, dial <55111>.
  • You can also save <55111><9XXXXXXXXX> or <55111> in your phone book and call them directly.
  • You have complete control over the music while it is playing. You can easily control the volume of the music by using the keys 2 and 8. In case you want the music to end or restart, just press the * key on your Vodafone mobile phone.
  • To add sounds like a crying baby, car horn etc press any key from 1 to 9 (except 2 and 8).

Note:
  • This service is currently available Pan India except HP and J&K circles.
  • Background Music will not be active when you are on a roaming network.
  • The service is for outgoing calls only except ISD calls.

Prepaid Customers:
  • Services to your mobile number would be discontinued if there is no usage i.e., no Voice Calls (incoming or outgoing), SMS & Data for any continuous period of 60 days. No refund would be given for any unused talk time balance and validity of the card. Number will be unusable post disconnection.
  • Customer with lifetime validity needs to do mandatorily recharge with Rs.200 cumulative in 180 days to avoid disconnection.
Postpaid Customers:
  • Services to your mobile number would be discontinued if there is no usage i.e., no Voice Calls (incoming or outgoing), SMS & Data for 1st 2 bill cycles post activation date.
