Vari is an exchange platform where producers (sellers) & buyers post buy/sell ad in the website (www.vari.co.in)/mobile (VARI Andriod app play.google.com/store/apps/details ).Buyers/sellers with no internet access can post an ad using SMS or make a call from basic cell phone. When the requirements are matched, an email or SMS is sent to seller/buyer. Since the link is small he can sell his produce at 10 to 15 % better price. It is solving an important problem for the Indian farmer, helping to sell his agricultural produce at a better price & provide him with market information which affects his price.

Impact

VARI has 110,840 users in India today, posting 126,520 ads for 170 different crops and commodities.

Unnati” is a service targeted at farmers. This will help bring efficiencies to the overall agriculture value chain using technology as an enabler. Data science will be used for helping improve the efficiencies across the farming lifecycle.The app can be either directly used by farmers or they can visit their local “Unnati Farm Centers” (UFC). UFC are local youth who operate centers in villages. These youth use Unnati app to order provisioning of inputs and to post the output requirement along with farm equipment (to be launched).

Unnati Farm Centers (UFC) are local youth run virtual centers for demand and supply aggregation. They provide local logistics and collection support services. Unnati focuses on training of UFCs to deliver services, support collections etc..

English Duniya aims to bridge the achievement gap in children with targeted and comprehensive instruction across all crucial skill areas that support reading proficiency. Unlike other mobile English language learning apps, English Duniya covers all key areas ­ vocabulary, grammar, reading, listening (and soon writing and spelling too).

It is furthermore designed keeping in mind that the child might not be able to reach out to a parent or teacher to ask for explanations, and is hence highly modular, carefully scaffolded and thoroughly structured, to allow truly self­driven and independent mobile learning.

The system will essentially diagnose where the child stands at the beginning and throughout the usage of the app and present learning based on his actual skill level rather than his grade level.

People who cannot afford a traditional hearing aid can use this app on basic smartphones. The App is discreet. It looks like the user is using their hands-free kit, as opposed to a stigmatizing hearing aid.

The combination of the entire bouquet of services focuses on end-to-end solution to fishers besides contributing to the digital India movement and Sustainable Development Goals.

The Composite Land Assessment and Restoration Tool CLART has been developed to assist village level functionaries to appropriately identify, plan and design structures based on recharge potentiality, land use land cover and slope. The tool is designed to empower the rural communities for better planning and decision making. This decision support tool takes into account the recharge potentiality derived from lithology, drainage and slope along with landuse and landcover to provide a colour coded map interface for easy understanding by even illiterate or semi literate people.

Impact

The efficacy of this plan has been demonstrated and tested through preparation of detailed project report (DPR) for more than 30000 ha across 3 districts in Rajasthan and in developing plans for 4 panchayats in Chikaballapur under the Papagni River Rejuvenation program..

Adivasimitra which is mandated to give dignity and sustainability to the more number of tribals and Primitive Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs). As part of information sharing and value addition to the agriculture sector to the Farmers Producers Organisation{FPO), Adivasimitra has entered into an agreement with Source Trace Systems Pvt Ltd(STS) for providing software solution support for collecting data from 2000 plus farmers by using Source Trace proprietary ESE solutions specially designed for Farmer Producers Organisations. In this process Source Trace has trained 10 tribal youth on using android mobile based solution for capturing farm and farmer’s data. The mobile software is a user friendly, where in a matriculation plus person can easily manage the data and upload it to the web server without any technical snag.

Impact

2000 farmers will have Rs.75.00 lakhs of their own capital in the form of equity. And 60% would have accessed formal credit from Banks.

It also gives opportunity to every single individual to play their role of contributing to the planet by neutralizing their carbon footprint, which they can calculate on this application. As SankalpTaru G1 application is not only used for the online planters but also by the villagers who plant trees for them, they are well trained to use this technology, and due to simplicity of the application, they are able to upload images and use the GPS location for each plant.

The Lab-on-a-Tab is a unique blended learning platform that combines digital and hands-on learning. It is an independent learning tool that allows learners to follow the lesson at a pace that they are comfortable in. The beneficiaries of the program are children in government schools, ranging from Grades 4 and upwards. The platform uses interactive animated videos, voice-overs, quizzes, projects and e-books to make learning fun and exciting! All of the content has been translated in to local languages so that children find it easy to follow. Each module is accompanied by a project kit, which allows learners to do real experiments in addition to the virtual ones.

The project is centered on distributing audio stories through mobile phones. Mobile phones exist in most Indian households today and can be a powerful and scalable distribution medium.The campaign is called ‘Missed Call do Kahaani Suno‘ and it entails a child giving a missed call to a number and s/he would get a callback to be able to listen to an audio story. Missed Call’ is a term recognised across languages and demographics and at zero-cost to the beneficiaries; it formed the foundation for the very successful pilot program that we have already tested in Delhi.

Impact

37,000 missed calls were received from 3500 numbers and 2500 children listened to 35,000 stories in 5 days.

he ‘Matir Katha’ project has been implemented across WB in every Panchayat, Block and District.

The platform has already generated 85776 Posts, 64438 Questions, 46891 Responses and 36645 SMS sent to farmers

The “Mobile Seva” project, aims to provide a one-stop solution to all the central and state Government departments and agencies across the nation for all their mobile based service delivery needs. The objective of the initiative is to provide a centrally hosted cloud based mobile enablement (m-enablement) and mobile based delivery (m-delivery) infrastructure and platform that allow all Government departments and agencies to expeditiously start offering their services through mobile phones without having to invest heavily in creating their own mobile platforms.

Mobile Seva enables integration of mobile applications with the common e-governance infrastructure for delivery of public services to the users.

Impact

Over 2540+ Government departments and agencies across the country have integrated their services with this platform (with more than 950+ crore PUSH SMS transactions flowing across).

It has paved way to revolutionise the way health care will be provided to our citizens in future. The reliability and quality of the data as the data is online & ease of access to the Administrators/Planners to monitor and take timely immediate actions are its key strengths.

Impact

The project scope is entire Tamil Nadu State covering all 6900+ villages. The present coverage of the project includes 32 districts and has the user base of 293 Dental surgeons and 293 Dental assistants.

Meeting community needs and providing information for better health facilities.

Innovation

This technology facilitates capturing community perspectives on the delivery of health services at the grassroots level. The committee members are trained to respond to a questionnaire about the services and facilities of their PHC on a quarterly basis using IVRS on their mobile phones. There is generation of an automated process for analyzing the monitoring information and preparation of ranks based on weighted performance in multiple indicators of public health. As the community perspectives are recorded in the digitalised form, it is much easier to generate the ranking card and disseminate it through SMS as well hard copies.

Generation and dissemination of ranking cards has helped people to compare the performance of other neighbouring PHCs. Increased competitive nature has resulted in increasing community participation to bring changes.

Impact

The project's field facilitators worked intensively with PMC members in 34 out of 112 PHCs in rural Mysore facilitating regular meetings among the members, dialogue with doctors, identifying problems and strategizing on addressing them locally, or escalating the matter appropriately.

Creating technologies for mass screening and diagnosis of important blinding conditions at an early stage to prevent blindness.

Innovation

They use the Remidio (www.remidio.com) fundus on phone (FOP) camera in two of the 9 visual centres. The device is easy to operate so that technicians at the vision centres are able to obtain excellent quality images which will be sent (using 3G connectivity) immediately to ophthalmologists at the base hospital for assessment of the fundus status and decision about further management/referral. This strategy has the potential to save unnecessary travel costs for a patient and at the same time prevent patients from going blind with glaucoma, ARMD or DR if applied on a sufficiently large scale.

Impact

1000 indivuals screened annually. Over 50 patients referred to base hospital with specialty diagnosis half yearly since the inception.

AMAR SEVA mVBRI PROJECT

Using technology to train parents to provide early intervention therapy in their own homes to children with disabilities.

Innovation

The rehabilitation experts, with the help of computer programming centres will design simple and user-friendly tablet based apps which focus on topics such as gross and fine motor development, speech and language skills, and feeding techniques. Travelling Community Rehabilitation workers will be armed with tablets containing these apps which they will use to train parents in rural communities. Parents will be taught about their child's development and trained to provide early intervention therapy. Tablets will also be used to relay important information back to physio/ speech and occupational therapists at our centre, who will watch videos of these children and make recommendations for treatment. Video conferencing using existing satellite internet networks will enhance treatment by providing caregivers with immediate feedback from therapists.

Impact

353 children with improved health care and 1272 caregivers have been educated in providing.

Innovation

A series of 10-15 minutes audio stories in Hindi revolving around captivating fictional characters were conceived and professionally recorded. Each deals with a prevalent social issue and focusses on the role of men and boys in particular to initiate positive change. Through the use of a digital IVRS platform the stories could be heard by dialling a toll free number widely disseminated in the project area. For a story to move ahead, listenerschoose from several options so it's a two-way communication. Also, questions related to issues discussed in the stories can be recorded, to be later answered through SMS keeping the user confidentiality in mind.

Impact

In the past three months 50,000 calls were registered with the programme‟s toll -free number 1800 11 2013. Of these, 6000 callers have had a deeper engagement through giving their feedback and responses to the programme.

CISC leverages widespread use of mobile phones in Mewat to establish a convenient and user friendly communication channel with people. Citizens call the toll free number which is managed by a trained expert who responds to the queries of villagers about government programs and village institutions. CISC provides a direct human interface. Callers directly talk to the expert and seek her/his services. CISC uses a call recording software to record details (caller request and details such as address and telephone numbers) with prior permission from the caller. This data helps generate information such as most requested queries, names of villages registering maximum callers, among others. Using this information they organize need-based information campaigns and training sessions in villages.

Impact

Over the last two years CISC in Mewat has answered about 8500 calls from 320 villages.

Primary service provided under Project Eyeway is that of a national help desk. The helpdesk has one toll free number which people from all corners of India can call. Though people call one number, they can speak to visually impaired counsellors in local languages and get relevant solutions for their queries and concerns. As a platform, Eyeway is a one-window access that brings together a rich treasure trove of resources. We use technology solutions like a cloud-based telephony routing system along with the internet to create an accessible platform for people spread across India.

Impact

Substantial number of persons living with blindness across India, Eyeway evolved into a network of 6 like-minded organizations in December 2015. Since then, in just the last 6 months, they have reached out to 4000 people spread across the country with varied linguistic, cultural and socio-political backgrounds.
