| Why am I not able to install the Mobility Manager Software? |
| It may happen that you cannot install the Mobility Manager software smoothly because you have installed data card software from some other manufacturer. The steps required to be undertaken to have a smooth installation is mentioned hereunder: |
Remove the other data card software from the add remove program in the control panel |
Delete the dial-up connection of the data card in the network connections |
Remove the Option Mobility manager from the add remove program in the control panel. |
| Delete 3 more folders: |
Delete Option folder in C drive- program files |
Delete Mobility Manager folder in C drive - current user - Local settings - application data |
Delete Mobility Manager folder in C drive - All users - Application data |
Also it would be nice to delete all the extra dial-up connections in the network connections. |
| Thereafter do a fresh installation of the Option Mobility Manager. |
| Even in cases where the software from the other vendor was existing before the installation of the Mobility Manager and thereafter removed, you need to also remove the Mobility Manager completely following the above last 4 steps and re-install the Mobility Manager. |
| After successful installations in all Laptops it would be nice if you could make the required configuration in the Internet explorer: |
Internet Explorer - Internet Options - Connections - Never Dial a connection should be ticked and in the LAN settings all fields should be unchecked. Also please remove the LAN cable from the laptop. |
Also check if all the Laptops are XP versions, having the latest windows update from Microsoft website and have Service pack II installed. |
Microsoft Outlook - tools - email accounts - view or change - change - more settings - Connections - connect using internet explorer or 3rd party dialer |
If you are able to receive mail but not send mails, kindly go to Microsoft Outlook - tools - email accounts - view or change - change - more settings - outgoing server - click on my outgoing server requires authentication and put in the required settings incase of POP3 or IMAP accounts. |

| When using the Vodafone data card in my laptop the LCD screen goes dark? |
| Please contact your Laptop Manufacturer Service Centre. The observed display behavior could be caused by an RF sensitive backlight inverter in the LCD screen. |

| I have strange "buzzing" noise on my laptop speakers; I see nervous behavior of the mouse pointer, the system hangs when inserting the Data Card |
| As does every electrical device the Vodafone Data Card emits a certain amount of electromagnetic radiation, also called Radio Frequency energy. This energy can create RF interference in devices without adequate shielding. On some laptops you can observe "buzzing" noise on the mini-speakers and / or nervous behavior of the mouse pointer on the screen when the data card is operational. The noise from the speakers might be a sign of poor shielding in the laptop. |
| Although the data card antenna is engineered and positioned to create as little as possible interference, some laptop models are affected. An external antenna can help in most cases. When plugged in it will bypass (turn off) the internal GSM / GPRS antenna and carry away the radio signal from the affected device eg. mouse, speakers. To get an external antenna call Vodafone Care. |

| During the installation, Windows says it cannot find the file msircom.sys. What should I do? |
| This error message can appear when your installation of Windows is not up to date. If this happens, please exit the software and install the last updates available. We recommend you to install the service pack 4 for Windows 2000 or the SP2 for Windows XP. These all are available at http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com Once this update has been carried out, you will need to re-start the Mobility Manager Software installation. |

| How do I access the corporate network? |
Check if you are accessing VPN though your company proprietary VPN client or not |
If yes, then check if the VPN connection is over a public or private IP ( Ask your IT administrator). |
If you need a private IP, then just enter the credentials of your VPN connection and start accessing your company network. |
In case, you do not use VPN client & you require a Public IP to access intranet - call Vodafone Care and subscribe to the Vodafone Mobile VPN service. Once the service is activated go to Connections > Set up on the Mobility Manager Interfaces Menu, and change the Access Point Name to "vodafonevpn.vodafone.co.in". |
If you are still facing problems, contact your Vodafone Account Manager or visit your nearest Vodafone Store or call Vodafone Care. |

| What do I do if I cannot get access to my corporate applications? |
