Vodafone provided end-to-end management of distribution and inventory over the MPLS service. We placed routers at the depots and managed the complete network, including the routers, at their company premises. Through an extensive requirements-understanding dialogue with the organisation, Vodafone solution architects did an optimum bandwidth and Class of Service (CoS) sizing for providing MPLS services. However, the challenge they faced was last mile connectivity. With over 120,000 kms of fibre and over 100,000 base stations, we gave it extensive coverage across the country. We used these resources to connect their depots through a mix of fibre and wireless radio connectivity, which not only reduced bandwidth costs for the organisation, but also ensured there was no compromise on speed. Since the FMCG major had partnered with Vodafone for servicing its mobile requirements, and Vodafone had proposed to manage their network connectivity, the FMCG major had no reason to look elsewhere.
